INTELLIGENT AD

In Steven Spielberg's 2002 film, Minority Report (one of my all-time favorites), there are smart, interactive ads everywhere in the year 2054. Those who passed by the Virgin Megastore in New York's Union Square today got to experience a bit of the future.

In a campaign to promote its Creative Suite 3 software program, Adobe put up a large interactive display on the 14th street side of Virgin. Using infrared sensors and a camera, the electronic ad displays animation based on pedestrian movement. Sure beats an ad on the side of a bus.

Adobe is also planning another display at the Virgin Megastore in London's Piccadilly Circus. You can read all about it in today's New York Times and check out the pics on Flickr.
