AGASSI CHARITABLE FOUNDATION
Tonight I had the privilege of attending an event that featured tennis great Andre Agassi. He spoke about his charitable foundation which helps underprivileged children in his hometown of Las Vegas. This is the second time this year I've had the chance to listen to an extremely accomplished athlete and individual talk about his commitment to helping others (the first was Lance Armstrong).
I think those moments, along with what I learned about cancer and disability from working on ATHLETE, have opened my eyes to the importance of giving back. And has changed how I view my personal success and happiness. Two years ago, I never would've considered charity or philanthropy as a part of the equation.
But now, I think we all have an obligation to do what we can to help others in need. Whether it's volunteering, making a donation, or spreading the word about an important cause. Every little bit counts. And maybe one day, we can each impact as many people as Agassi and Armstrong have with their foundations.
