ARTFUL DODGER
It's Fashion Week in NYC again. Last February, I got to check out my first show in Bryant Park which was great (models! models!). This time, my first Fashion Week party for urban streetwear label Artful Dodger. Wasn't sure what to expect. Would it be any different than the handful of NYC parties I've attended over the last few years (which have become pretty monotonous -- free drinks, loud music, dark club)?
To be honest, I almost decided not to go tonight fearing the same. Time's precious, especially when you're racing to complete a film to meet festival deadlines in a few months (that's a whole 'nother post). But the fact that the party was being held at the Chelsea Art Museum gave me some hope. And...I'm glad I went. Besides free drinks, there were three floors of impressive art and design (a feast for the eyes!).
Cool threads. AD mixes streetwear with traditional tailoring.
Not going to find this at Brooks Brothers.
(Wait, got a better one: Bill the Butcher called, he wants his knives back.)
Some great artwork and graphic design on display by NYC's own Vault49, the masterminds behind the AD brand and their new nifty logo.
This skull piece, which was featured on the invite, was designed by UK-based firm ilovedust (strongly urge you to check out their portfolio online; these guys are insanely talented).

Thanks again Sari. Great to meet you. And of course thanks GQ.
